Who we are

Passive protection specialists, nothing else.

We are a family-run business based in Marlow, working throughout southern England. Passive fire protection is all we do — the parts of a building that contain fire and smoke, rather than the alarms that detect it.

We survey, install and record the work, giving building owners, facilities teams, contractors and managing agents a clear evidence trail for insurers and auditors. We are the passive half of the Pro Fire Safety Group.

What we do

Compartmentation is only as good as its worst penetration.

Every building relies on being divided into compartments that hold fire and smoke long enough for people to get out. Cables get pulled, ducts get cut in, doors get replaced — and those lines quietly stop working.

We find where that has happened, tell you honestly what has to be fixed first, and put it right with certificated systems and a record you can hand to an insurer or auditor.

Interactive · X-ray your building

Fire doesn't need a big hole. It needs one you can't see.

This is what an average building looks like behind the ceiling tiles. Tap a hotspot to see the defect, then switch to after remedials.

Where buildings usually fail

The defects nobody sees on a walk-round.

Breaches are almost always inside risers, above ceilings and in plant areas — the places other trades work and nobody checks what they cut through.

  • Cables and pipes pushed through compartment walls and never resealed
  • Fire doors with gaps, missing intumescent strips or the wrong hinges
  • Ductwork and dampers installed without the surrounding fire stopping
  • Ceiling voids where the compartment line stops short of the slab
  • Historic works with no records, so nobody knows what was ever done

How we work

Four steps, no surprises.

Type of premises, compartmentation strategy, fire doors, and anywhere protection may have been disturbed. We look at what the building was designed to do before we judge what it does now.

Every defect located, photographed and rated, so you can see what is wrong and where. Nothing is recorded as a vague area — each item ties to a place in the building.

A costed schedule split into immediate, planned and monitor — so you can phase or budget it. We tell you what genuinely has to be done now and what can wait.

Works carried out with certificated systems and recorded for audit and handover. You finish with photographs, product details and a record that stands up to scrutiny.

Pro Fire Safety Group

Active and passive, under one roof.

Pro-Passive Fire Safety and Pro-Active Fire Safety are the two halves of the Pro Fire Safety Group. Active protection detects a fire and helps people escape it. Passive protection contains it, buying the time that alarms and escape routes depend on. Same office, so nothing falls between them.

Pro-Active Fire Safety

Fire alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting, suppression and training.
