Fire Door and Compartmentation Works

The Misbourne School, based in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, first opened in 1956. Today the school welcomes approximately 1,200 students and provides a busy community environment where passive fire protection has to work around everyday education.

The school engaged Pro-Passive Fire Safety to help review its fire doors and compartmentation and identify remedial works needed to maintain fire protection.

A full Fire Door Survey was carried out to identify issues affecting fire doors, glazing and compartmentation. Remedial works were then undertaken to reinstate the required passive fire protection.

The programme was planned around the school holidays and outside normal school hours to reduce disruption to pupils and staff.

We have made sure to complete all works outside of school hours to prevent any disruption.

The project demonstrates the importance of combining fire door inspection with compartmentation works, rather than treating each element in isolation.
