Passive fire protection

Fire doors, surveyed and put right

A fire door is a doorset, not a door. Leaf, frame, seals, hinges, closer, glazing and signage all have to work together, and a single failed component is enough to lose the rating the whole assembly was certified to.

The problem

Most fire doors fail on the small things.

Very few fire doors fail because the leaf is wrong. They fail because the gap round the edge has opened up, the intumescent strip has been painted over, a hinge has been swapped for a non-rated one, the closer no longer shuts the door onto the latch, or the vision panel has been reglazed with the wrong bead.

Every one of those is a small, cheap defect that stops the doorset performing. And every one of them is invisible unless somebody inspects the door properly, records what they found and comes back to fix it.

We survey, inspect, install and repair fire doorsets — and we photograph what we found and what we did.

What we do

Survey, repair, replace.

Fire door surveysEvery door inspected and recorded on a schedule, with each defect photographed, rated and priced.
Remedial repairSeals, hinges, closers, glazing, signage and gap adjustment — most doors can be brought back rather than replaced.
New doorsetsWhere a door is past repair, supply and installation of certificated doorsets to suit the opening and the rating.
Re-inspectionReturn visits on your agreed cycle, so the schedule stays current rather than ageing quietly in a folder.
