Question 1

Do you actually cover Maidenhead, or is this just a listing?

Accepted Answer

We cover it properly. Our base is Unit 3 Globe Estate, Fieldhouse Lane, Marlow SL7 1LW, a few miles up the A4094, so Maidenhead is part of our normal working patch rather than the outer edge of it.

Question 2

How often does a fire alarm need servicing?

Accepted Answer

BS 5839-1 recommends a competent person services the system at least twice a year, with the responsible person doing a weekly call point test in between. We put the visits on a schedule and remind you before each one falls due.

Question 3

How often do fire extinguishers need servicing?

Accepted Answer

Annually, by a competent person, under BS 5306-3. Some types also need an extended service or overhaul every five or ten years depending on the extinguisher, and we flag those well in advance rather than on the day.

Question 4

We have just refitted our office. What needs looking at?

Accepted Answer

Detection coverage, alarm zoning, emergency lighting positions and escape route signage, in that order. A fit-out moves walls and ceilings around and the existing system almost never follows. A short survey tells you what has to change and what can stay.
